Volunteer opportunities with varying time commitments related to the St. Francis of Assisi Elementary and Junior High schools are available in the following areas:
- Library – Help with inventory, shelve books, help process new books and assist students.
- Lunchroom – Help serve the meal, wipe off tables and chairs, assist with clean up.
- Classroom – Responsibilities vary but may include helping students, correcting papers, working on bulletin boards, preparing for a science experiment or art project, or sharing information about your career.
- Technology – Assist during lab time with the students, and may be utilized as assistants for connecting new computers or work stations.
- Office Help – Assist with Campbell’s soup labels, Box Tops for Education, and Kemp’s milk lid collection, collating handbooks and directories.
- Special Projects – Parents are responsible for chairing the Science Fair, serving as project evaluators, and Helping Hands. Other projects also require volunteers; these opportunities are advertised in the parish bulletin.
- Home School Association – The Home School Association is comprised of school parents. Using the Parent Press (school newsletter) for communicating the need for volunteers, the HSA coordinates volunteers for events such as orientation in August, chairing the school carnival, and providing meals to teachers during conferences.
